John Boyne is leaving his native Dublin, Ireland to visit Lancaster County!  The award-winning author will appear at the 2013 Spring Author Luncheon on Monday, April 22nd at 12:00 noon at the Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd, Lancaster, PA.   Mr. Boyne is making a special visit to Lancaster County while on a six-city USA tour where he will be promoting the US publication of his novel, The House of Special Purpose .   He will also be appearing at Naperville, IL; Chicago; Boston; Washington, DC; and St. Louis, MO.
The Council of Friends of Public Libraries, Aaron’s Books and the Library System of Lancaster County will host the luncheon, which is a fundraising event for public libraries in Lancaster County. 
About The Council of Friends
Established in 2000, The Council of Friends of Public Libraries is made up of volunteers who are avid readers and are committed to promoting reading countywide.  The group has organized and hosted author events that included Ursula Hegi, Rick Bragg, Anita Shreve, Sue Monk Kidd, Julia Glass, Judith Viorst, Chris Bohjalian, Laura Lippman, Elizabeth Berg, Erik Larson, Sarah Blake, Beth Hoffman and Ellen F. Brown as their guest speakers.  The Council of Friends won the PCBL (Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries) “Outstanding Friends Group of the Year” Award in 2011.
Tickets for the 2013 luncheon will go on sale February 1, 2013.  The $40 ticket price includes a paperback copy of the US version of The House of Special Purpose .
